CNPE targets lower middle market companies with revenues of $25 million to $250 million and EBITDA of $5 million to $25 million.  We invest in niche businesses within traditional industries and will commit a minimum of $10 million and a maximum of $35 million in any one single transaction.

We concentrate on three core verticals:

CNPE identifies demographic trends that shape people’s lifestyles and consumption habits with a particular focus on ethnic trends, aging, health, changes in the traditional household, and a population “on-the-go.”  Industries include consumer products and services, education, financial services, healthcare, media and entertainment/leisure.

CNPE focuses on segments of the economy where it is more efficient for companies to outsource certain business functions in order to focus on their core competencies and/or to realize cost savings.  Industries include energy services, industrial services, staffing and professional services.

CNPE focuses on global trends affecting the development of infrastructure buildup, manufacturing and industrial growth.  We seek to take advantage of opportunities that reflect the manufacture and movement of goods and commodities within the U.S. and throughout the world.  Infrastructure assets typically provide stable, recurring cash flows and an underlying asset value that allows for advantageous financings.  Industries include shipping, highways, ports, energy and utilities, manufacturing and commercial and municipal construction.

CNPE takes a disciplined approach to investing and has significant experience investing in our core verticals.  We typically avoid investments in the telecom, technology, bio-tech, retail, automotive and airline industries.  CNPE differentiates itself from other private equity firms due to its ability to identify niche businesses within traditional industries and add value through creative deal strategies.
